Oase AquaMax Eco Premium Pumps for Dry Installation

The current CORE 6 filter-pump range, selected and installed with a flooded external suction

Oase no longer presents a separate current family called AquaMax Eco Dry in this size range. The correct products are the six AquaMax Eco Premium CORE 6 models, all approved for submerged or dry installation. We have corrected this category to show those genuine current products rather than duplicate listings with inaccurate item numbers.

A dry installation puts the pump outside the pond in an accessible chamber, but the pump is not self-priming. It must sit in a correctly designed flooded-suction arrangement with the inlet continuously full of water. Routing the suction pipe up and over the pond edge will trap air and is not equivalent.

The range combines Oase Control compatibility, Seasonal Flow Control, Environmental Function Control and handling of suitable suspended solids up to 11 mm. Choose the model from the performance curve at the real head.

Current AquaMax Eco Premium CORE 6 Range

Model Maximum flow Maximum head Power range
AquaMax Eco Premium 5000 5,000 l/h 3.5 m 10-35 W
AquaMax Eco Premium 7000 7,000 l/h 4.0 m 12-45 W
AquaMax Eco Premium 9000 9,000 l/h 4.5 m 14-60 W
AquaMax Eco Premium 13000 13,000 l/h 5.0 m 16-100 W
AquaMax Eco Premium 17000 17,000 l/h 5.5 m 18-140 W
AquaMax Eco Premium 21000 21,000 l/h 6.0 m 20-180 W

These are Oase GB product numbers and maximum figures. Delivered flow will be lower in a real pipe circuit.

Build a Reliable Flooded Suction

Position the pump below water level and feed it through a below-water inlet or gravity filter chamber. Use full-bore isolation and unions, keep the suction short and airtight, and avoid a small hose tail on the inlet.

Protect fish and wildlife at the source. The 11 mm solids rating is not permission to leave an unsafe open suction.

Control and Seasonal Operation

Oase Control can regulate and monitor the current pumps with compatible controllers and accessories. Seasonal Flow Control can reduce the temperature-dependent flow when enabled. Neither feature corrects an undersized pipe or air leak.

Dry installation makes maintenance easier, but the chamber still needs drainage, ventilation and frost-safe design.

Our advice: draw the suction side before choosing the pump. Most external-pump trouble begins before the water reaches the impeller.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is AquaMax Eco Premium suitable for dry installation?

Yes. Oase specifies the current CORE 6 models for submerged or dry installation.

Is the pump self-priming?

No. A dry installation needs a continuously flooded, airtight suction.

Why was the category name changed?

The current genuine products are AquaMax Eco Premium CORE 6. The old Eco Dry listings duplicated them and used inaccurate item numbers.

Which is the smallest current model?

AquaMax Eco Premium 5000, with 5,000 l/h maximum flow and 3.5 m maximum head.

Which is the largest?

AquaMax Eco Premium 21000, with 21,000 l/h maximum flow and 6.0 m maximum head.

What solids can they pass?

Oase publishes suitable coarse debris handling up to 11 mm.

Can the suction pipe go over the pond edge?

No. That arrangement traps air and does not provide the required flooded suction.

Can I control the flow electronically?

Yes, with compatible Oase Control equipment and settings for the exact model.

What does Seasonal Flow Control do?

It can reduce flow and head according to water temperature when enabled, subject to the system needs.

Can the pump chamber flood?

It must be designed with drainage and safe electrical positioning; dry-mounted does not mean waterproof equipment should sit in a flooded pit.

Does maximum flow equal the flow through my filter?

No. Maximum flow is measured at little or no head. Lift, pipe friction and equipment resistance reduce the delivered figure.

Is maximum head a usable operating height?

No. It is the shut-off end of the curve, where useful flow approaches zero.

Should I use a larger pipe bore?

Usually yes. Generous, smooth pipework reduces friction and can improve both flow and efficiency.

Can you help size the pump?

Yes. Send the required delivered flow, vertical lift, pipe bore and length, fittings and connected equipment.

How often should a pond pump be cleaned?

Inspect it whenever output falls and during routine maintenance. Clean the intake and rotor without damaging seals or ceramic parts.

Can I run the pump dry for a quick test?

No. Prime or submerge it as instructed; even brief dry running can damage seals and bearings.

Does a controller make an oversized pump efficient?

Control is useful, but heavy permanent throttling usually means the pump or pipework should be reconsidered.
