Eco Plus air pumps suit everyday oxygenation, filter support and summer aeration. They are particularly useful where one pump needs to serve several modest outlets through a correctly balanced manifold. Long, narrow airline and too many tight fittings can waste output as well. For several outlets, use a manifold that allows individual adjustment and avoid closing so many taps that the pump is forced to work against excessive back pressure.
Our usual preference is a little sensible spare capacity rather than a pump working at its limit. The spare air can be bled through another diffuser, while an undersized pump cannot be persuaded to perform better by fitting a bigger manifold.
Installation details that make a noticeable difference
Site the pump where it is protected from flooding, splashing and condensation, with clear ventilation around the housing. Use a non-return valve where appropriate and form the airline so rainwater cannot track back towards the pump. Check diffusers for mineral or biological fouling, because a blocked diffuser increases back pressure and reduces useful air.
Splitters are convenient, but a proper manifold is easier to balance. Start with every outlet open, then make small adjustments. A healthy system should deliver even aeration without the pump sounding strained or becoming abnormally hot.

Can I reduce the airflow with manifold taps?
You can balance individual outlets, but heavily throttling the entire pump may create damaging back pressure. It is better to use spare air usefully or select the correct pump size.
How often should diffusers be cleaned?
Inspect them whenever the bubble pattern becomes coarse or airflow falls. Cleaning frequency varies with water hardness, biofilm and the type of diffuser.
Will more bubbles always mean more dissolved oxygen?
