Takazumi Mix Growth and Colour Koi Food
Complete floating food for balanced growth and stronger colour development
Takazumi Mix is a complete floating koi food created for keepers who want to support both body development and colour without feeding two separate diets. It combines the key benefits associated with Takazumi High Growth and Takazumi Gold Plus, providing a practical growth-and-colour programme in one 5mm pellet.
The formula is designed for active koi and can be introduced once water temperatures are suitable for stronger feeding. Although it may be used from around 10°C according to the manufacturer’s guidance, the amount offered should remain conservative in cooler water. Growth-focused feeding is most effective when the pond is warm, oxygen levels are strong and the biological filter is mature.
Why choose Takazumi Mix?
High-growth foods can support body development but may not always provide the specific pigment ingredients sought by keepers focused on colour. Colour foods, meanwhile, are often used as part of a wider feeding programme. Takazumi Mix brings the two objectives together, making it suitable for koi ponds where steady growth and visual development are both important.
The floating format allows you to monitor how confidently the koi are feeding, check for fish that are hanging back and remove any uneaten pellets before they affect water quality.
Available sizes
Takazumi Mix is supplied as a medium 5mm floating pellet in 4.5kg and 10kg bags. Choose a pack size that can be used while the food remains fresh and store it sealed in a cool, dry place.
Feeding guidance
Introduce richer food gradually and feed only what the koi will clear promptly. Several small feeds are normally preferable to one heavy feed. Monitor ammonia, nitrite and dissolved oxygen when increasing the daily ration, especially during warm weather when koi appetite rises but oxygen availability can fall.
Reduce feeding if the fish become less active, the weather changes sharply or the filter begins to struggle. Takazumi Mix is a complete food, so treats and supplements should remain a controlled addition rather than replacing the main diet.
