Kiyomizu Jumbo Koi Food

Age-specific 8mm nutrition for mature koi of approximately 60cm and above

Kiyomizu Jumbo is a complete floating koi food developed for large, mature koi. It forms part of Kiyomizu’s age-stage approach, which recognises that a koi over approximately 60cm does not require exactly the same nutritional balance as a young fish being pushed through its fastest period of growth.

Rather than being classified as a conventional high-protein growth food, Kiyomizu Jumbo is designed to maintain body shape, condition, skin quality, colour and long-term wellbeing in mature koi. The formula includes highly digestible proteins, prebiotics and probiotics, organically bound vitamins and minerals, algae-derived ingredients, Montmorillonite clay and yeast extracts.

Why feed mature koi differently?

Older koi still require excellent-quality nutrition, but excessive levels of certain nutrients can be counterproductive once the fish has passed its main juvenile growth stage. An age-appropriate diet helps provide what the koi can use efficiently while avoiding the assumption that richer food is always better.

The large 8mm floating pellet is suited to big koi and makes feeding behaviour easy to observe. In a pond containing mixed sizes, feed the larger pellets first so the mature fish begin feeding before smaller pellets are introduced for younger koi.

Available pack sizes

Kiyomizu Jumbo is available in 7kg and 14kg bags. Choose the pack size around the number of large koi being fed and how quickly the food will be used while fresh.

Feeding guidance

Feed once to three times per day according to water temperature, fish activity and pond conditions, offering no more than the koi will consume within approximately five minutes. Reduce the amount substantially as the water cools and remove any uneaten food.

Monitor water quality whenever feeding levels change. Mature koi still create a significant waste load, so strong biological filtration, good oxygen and routine ammonia and nitrite testing remain essential.

Current pack and variation options

The current product page offers 7kg and 14kg. Choose the pack and pellet option that suits the number and size of fish being fed, and select a quantity that can be used while the food remains fresh. After opening, reseal the packaging and store it somewhere cool, dry and protected from direct sunlight, moisture and pests.

Choosing this food for mature koi

The 8mm pellet is intended for large, mature koi that can comfortably take a substantial pellet. Use it to support steady condition rather than forcing rapid growth, and introduce it gradually if the fish have previously been fed a smaller or very different formula. As with any richer food, water quality and filter performance should determine the feeding rate, not appetite alone.
