The Filtreau Excellent Combi Drum 20/25 Low Version Gravity Fed delivers professional drum filtration in a compact low height format. It suits gravity fed koi and ornamental pond systems where installation height is restricted but high flow performance is required.

Filtreau engineers this unit using robust European components and industrial grade drive technology. As a result, you get powerful mechanical and biological filtration in one integrated system.

This model supports ponds up to 60000 litres depending on stocking levels. For koi ponds, it comfortably handles demanding systems with higher fish loads. In ornamental ponds, it can support even larger volumes with sensible stocking.

With a maximum flow rate of up to 30000 litres per hour, this gravity fed version offers greater throughput than the pump fed model. Therefore, it suits larger gravity systems with bottom drains and higher turnover requirements.

The Low Version stands 750mm high. Consequently, it fits neatly inside filter chambers or dedicated bays where a full height drum filter would not fit.

High Efficiency Mechanical Filtration with Integrated UV

At the centre of the system sits a 400mm x 400mm stainless steel drum fitted with a 70 micron screen. This fine mesh removes suspended solids before they enter the biological stage. Because the drum separates waste at this early stage, the biological chambers remain cleaner and more efficient.

When debris restricts flow, the stainless steel float switch activates the automatic cleaning cycle. The 130Nm SPG XL industrial motor rotates the drum while high pressure spray nozzles clean the screen. The integrated 5 bar 600W flushing pump powers the wash cycle. As a result, the system maintains consistent filtration with very little manual input.

The unit also includes an integrated 80W high output stainless steel immersion UV C operating at 253.7nm. This UV controls green water algae and reduces harmful bacteria. Therefore, you maintain clear water without installing a separate inline UV unit.

Twin Biological Chambers for Balanced Filtration

The Filtreau Excellent Combi Drum 20/25 Low Version Gravity Fed includes a dedicated biological section divided into twin chambers. This allows you to combine moving and static media for balanced long term filtration.

One chamber supports moving bed media such as Hel-X or K+ Filter Media. This section typically accommodates up to approximately 100 litres of media. When supplied with sufficient air, the media remains in constant motion. Consequently, bacteria receive high oxygen levels and break down ammonia and nitrite efficiently.

The second chamber houses Japanese matting. This static media provides a stable, high surface area structure for long term bacterial colonisation. In addition, it helps capture fine particles that pass beyond the drum stage.

The filter does not include Hel-X or Japanese mats. Therefore, you can select the appropriate media based on your pond’s size and stocking level.

To operate the moving bed chamber correctly, you must supply adequate airflow. We recommend a Charles Austen ET80 air pump for this filter size, as it provides reliable and consistent aeration.

The 130Nm SPG XL drive motor features double seals to protect against moisture ingress. Meanwhile, the automatic control box manages cleaning cycles and includes lid safety protection that disables the system when opened.
