The Oase Vitronic 36 W UVC is a powerful ultraviolet pond clarifier designed to eliminate green water caused by suspended algae and improve overall pond water clarity. As pond water passes through the unit it is exposed to ultraviolet light, which disrupts the cellular structure of single celled algae, bacteria and other microorganisms responsible for cloudy or green pond water.
Designed for inline dry installation, the Vitronic 36 W connects easily to most pond pumps and filtration systems. Stepped hose connectors allow the unit to be installed with a variety of hose diameters, making it suitable for many different pond setups.
How the Oase Vitronic 36 W UVC Works
Water from the pond is pumped through the UVC chamber where it passes close to the ultraviolet lamp. The UV light damages the cells of suspended algae, causing them to clump together so they can then be removed by the pond filter.
This process helps restore clear pond water while also reducing harmful bacteria and microorganisms. Improved water clarity allows more light to reach aquatic plants while creating healthier conditions for fish and beneficial bacteria.
The Vitronic 36 W UVC is designed to be simple to maintain and operate. A visual inspection window allows you to confirm the UV lamp is operating, while the quick release ballast unit allows the lamp to be replaced quickly and easily.
For safety, the unit includes a built in switch which automatically shuts off the UV lamp when the housing is opened. This prevents accidental exposure to ultraviolet light during maintenance.
The Vitronic range works well with many filtration systems including the Oase BioSmart filter series, making it an ideal upgrade for ponds suffering from green water algae.
Pond Size Recommendations
Natural ponds without fish can be treated up to approximately 40,000 litres.
Goldfish ponds are typically suitable up to around 20,000 litres.
Koi ponds require stronger filtration and are recommended up to approximately 10,000 litres.
Correct pump flow rate and filtration are important to ensure effective UV clarification.
