The Oase BioSmart 36000 Pond Filter Set is a high capacity gravity return filtration system designed for large garden ponds, goldfish ponds and lightly stocked koi ponds. Unlike pressurised filters, the BioSmart range operates as a flow through box filter. As a result, it provides strong biological capacity, excellent oxygenation and stable long term water quality.
This complete filtration package includes a matched pump and UV clarifier, ensuring balanced mechanical, biological and ultraviolet treatment from day one. Therefore, it is ideal for new pond builds, large pond upgrades or replacing undersized filtration systems.
The Oase BioSmart 36000 Pond Filter Set is suitable for:

Intelligent Multi Stage Filtration and Easy Maintenance
The Oase BioSmart 36000 delivers high volume mechanical and biological filtration in a durable, UV resistant housing.
Water is delivered to the filter by the included Oase AquaMax Eco Classic 11500 pump. It then passes through nine layered filter foams:
- 4 blue coarse foams
- 4 red fine foams
- 1 green ultra fine foam
These foams trap debris and suspended solids while simultaneously providing a large surface area for beneficial bacteria. Consequently, ammonia and nitrite are broken down efficiently, supporting stable water chemistry and improved fish health.
The integrated pollution level indicator clearly shows when cleaning is required. This allows you to maintain peak performance without guesswork.
Maintenance is straightforward. The in situ EasyClean handles allow you to compress all nine foams from outside the unit. As a result, trapped waste is flushed into the sludge drain without removing the sponges. In addition, the bottom sludge outlet with internal slide valve allows coarse debris to be discharged quickly and cleanly.
A built in thermometer provides instant visibility of pond water temperature, which is particularly useful during seasonal transitions.
For increased biological efficiency, the system can be paired with an Oase OxyTex pond aerator. When installed, OxyTex can improve biological filtration performance by up to 25 percent by increasing oxygen availability inside the chamber.
Complete Matched System with Pump and 36W UV
The Oase BioSmart 36000 Pond Filter Set is supplied as a fully matched filtration kit. Water is pumped into the filter by the Oase AquaMax Eco Classic 11500, a solids handling pump capable of moving particles up to 8mm.

Once water has passed through the multi stage filter foams, it flows through the Oase Vitronic 36W UV clarifier. The ultraviolet light neutralises single celled algae responsible for green water, along with harmful bacteria and pathogens.
Filtered water then exits via gravity return through the DN 75 outlet back into the pond. Because this is a gravity discharge system, the filter must be positioned above pond water level to allow natural return flow.
The result is a balanced mechanical, biological and ultraviolet filtration system designed for larger ponds with higher waste loads.
