Charles Austen Air Pump Service Kit

Genuine service kits and replacement parts for Charles Austen Enviro air pumps

The Charles Austen Air Pump Service Kit range is designed to keep Enviro ET, ETA, ETAO and compatible ETD air pumps working reliably. These pumps are often used every day on koi ponds, garden ponds, biological filters, moving bed systems, aquaculture tanks and wastewater treatment systems, so the internal wearing parts eventually need replacing.

Each service kit is model specific. Depending on the kit selected, it can include diaphragms, an air filter, magnets and valves. The diaphragms are the main wearable parts inside the air pump. When they become tired, airflow drops and the pump has to work harder. Regular servicing helps restore performance, reduce strain on the motor and lower the risk of a sudden loss of aeration.

Charles Austen state that ET Series air pumps are covered by a two year motor warranty, but the pump should be serviced yearly to validate that warranty. They also recommend changing consumables such as diaphragms and filters as part of that annual service. Wear parts are separate from the motor warranty, so keeping on top of servicing is the best way to protect the pump and the pond or system it supports.

Choosing the correct service kit

Select the option that matches the model shown on your air pump label. For example, an ET80 should use the ET80 service kit and an ET200 should use the ET200 service kit. ETA and ETAO versions of the same size generally use the same main service parts, while ETD models should be matched carefully because they can use different components.

If the model label is unclear, please send us a photo of the pump before ordering. Guessing can lead to the wrong kit being fitted, which may reduce airflow or prevent the pump from running correctly.

When should an air pump be serviced?

As a general rule, continuously running air pumps should be serviced once a year. A pump may need attention sooner if airflow has dropped, the unit sounds louder than normal, the filter looks dirty, or the pump has been working against a blocked diffuser or restricted airline.

Before fitting a new kit, always isolate the power. Once the kit is fitted, reconnect the airline and check the system for back pressure. A kinked airline, closed manifold tap, blocked air stone, blocked diffuser or water inside the pipework can cause the new parts to fail earlier than expected.

Related aeration products

A service kit restores the pump, but it is also worth checking the rest of the aeration system at the same time.

If your pump has stopped completely, a service kit may not be enough. Water damage, a damaged safety switch, a failed magnet or a motor fault may need separate diagnosis. Contact us before ordering if you are not sure whether your pump needs a service kit, a spare part or a replacement pump.
