Adjustable Surface Skimmer for Large Garden Pond Filtration Systems

The Oase AquaSkim 40 is a high performance standing pond skimmer designed to remove floating debris from the surface of larger garden ponds. By connecting directly to a pond pump and filtration system, the skimmer continuously removes leaves, pollen and organic waste before it has the chance to sink and break down within the pond.

Designed for ponds up to approximately 40 square metres, the AquaSkim 40 provides powerful surface suction when paired with an appropriate pond pump. Removing debris at the surface helps reduce nutrient build up, supports clearer water and reduces the amount of organic waste entering the filtration system.

The skimmer is particularly effective when used alongside the Oase AquaMax Eco Premium pump range, where suction can be split between the main pump intake and the surface skimmer.

Efficient Surface Debris Removal

The AquaSkim 40 continuously removes floating debris from the pond surface before it can sink and decompose.

By removing this material early, the skimmer helps prevent sludge build up on the pond floor and reduces the amount of organic waste entering the pond filter.

Adjustable Height for Different Pond Depths

The AquaSkim 40 features a telescopic riser pipe which allows the skimmer height to be adjusted between approximately 300 mm and 800 mm.

This flexible height adjustment allows the skimmer to be installed in ponds with varying depths while maintaining the correct water level at the skimmer intake.

The floating skimmer head automatically compensates for water level fluctuations of up to approximately 120 mm, ensuring reliable surface debris removal even when pond levels change.

Large Debris Collection Basket

The AquaSkim 40 includes a removable debris basket designed to capture leaves and floating debris before they reach the filtration system.

The basket has a capacity of approximately 1.4 litres and includes a convenient hook ring which allows it to be lifted out easily for cleaning, even when positioned away from the pond edge.

Regular cleaning of the basket ensures optimal skimmer performance.

Designed for Connection to Pond Pumps

The AquaSkim 40 does not contain its own motor and must be connected to a pond pump.

It is specifically designed to operate alongside the Oase AquaMax Eco Premium pump range. When connected to one of these pumps, suction is shared between the pump intake and the surface skimmer.

The skimmer requires a minimum flow rate of approximately 8000 litres per hour and can handle up to approximately 16000 litres per hour depending on the pump configuration.

Stable Installation Without Liner Cutting

Unlike built in wall skimmers, the AquaSkim 40 does not require cutting the pond liner for installation.

The skimmer features a wide weighted base which sits securely on the pond floor. Stones or gravel can be added to the base to provide additional stability if required.

This makes the AquaSkim 40 particularly useful for retrofitting into existing ponds.
