The Yamitsu Algae Master Pond UV Clarifier 55W is a reliable, high-performance ultraviolet clarifier designed to tackle persistent green water algae in ponds up to 4,500 gallons. Manufactured in the UK using UV-stabilised plastic, this unit is built for long-term durability and performance. It features internal turbulators that increase water turbulence inside the chamber, enhancing the exposure of algae cells to the UV-C light and improving overall sterilisation efficiency.

Suitable for both gravity and pump-fed systems, the Algae Master UV includes large inlet and outlet ports for high flow rates and compatibility with a wide range of pond plumbing setups. The unit is supplied with glue-in hosetails that accommodate flexible pipe sizes from ½” to 1½”, or it can be hard-plumbed using standard 1½” solvent weld pressure or waste pipe.

Easy Installation and Maintenance

For best results, the UV should be installed in-line after the pump, forcing water through the chamber. If you’re battling an intense algae bloom, a partial water change before installation is recommended to kickstart the clearing process. Always trim the supplied hosetails to the largest size your pipework can accept to maximise flow rate and efficiency.

Maintenance is simple. While the UV lamp may still appear illuminated after months of use, its effectiveness drops significantly over time. For peak performance, replace the lamp every six months. Never look directly at an illuminated UV lamp – even exhausted bulbs can emit harmful light.
