Oase BioPress 6000 Pressurised Pond Filter

Compact Pressure Filter with 9W UV for Medium Garden Ponds

The Oase BioPress 6000 Pressurised Pond Filter is a compact and efficient filtration system designed for medium sized garden ponds, decorative water features and lightly stocked fish ponds. Combining mechanical sponge filtration, biological media and a built in 9W ultraviolet clarifier, it provides clear and healthy pond water in a simple, easy to maintain unit.

Thanks to its sealed pressurised housing, the BioPress 6000 allows filtered water to be pumped to a higher level than the filter itself. This makes it ideal for supplying a waterfall, stream or cascade while keeping the filter discreetly positioned beside the pond or partially buried in soft ground.

Easy Clean Operation and Reliable Green Water Control

Maintenance is quick and hygienic. The integrated easy clean handle compresses the internal filter sponges, helping to expel accumulated waste without the need to remove or touch the foam media directly. This reduces mess and simplifies routine servicing.

The built in 9 watt UV clarifier effectively controls single celled algae, preventing green water and improving clarity. An inspection window allows you to visually confirm that the UV lamp is operating. In addition, the quick release lid ensures fast access during maintenance.

The Oase BioPress 6000 is suitable for:

  • Ornamental ponds up to 6000 litres
  • Fish ponds up to 3000 litres
  • Koi ponds up to 1500 litres

It provides a cost effective alternative to larger pressurised systems such as Oase FiltoClear models and is ideal for pond owners who prefer a compact pondside filter solution rather than a submerged unit.

Choosing the right pump setup

When choosing a pond pump, the number on the box is only the starting point. Real flow is affected by head height, pipe length, bends, hose diameter, valves, UV units and the filter it is feeding. A pump that looks powerful on paper can lose a lot of performance if it is pushed through undersized hose or a restrictive run of fittings.

For best results, plan the pump, filter, UV and return pipework together. Use larger bore hose or pressure pipe where possible, keep bends sensible and leave enough access to remove the pump for cleaning. This gives the equipment a better chance of delivering the flow the pond actually needs.

UV sizing and maintenance notes

Oase BioPress 6000 Pressurised Pond Filter should be matched to the pond volume, flow rate and water clarity problem you are trying to solve. UV clarification works best when water passes the lamp at a suitable speed and the quartz sleeve is kept clean. If the flow is too fast, contact time can be reduced. If the lamp is old or the quartz sleeve is dirty, performance can drop even when the unit still appears to be switched on.

  • Replace UV lamps as part of routine seasonal maintenance.
  • Clean or inspect the quartz sleeve when water clarity starts to deteriorate.
  • Match the UV to the pump and filter rather than installing it in isolation.
  • Allow safe access for lamp changes and winter maintenance.

Good UV performance also depends on mechanical filtration. Removing fine debris before the UV helps the lamp work on green water algae more effectively.
